Pour a cup of boiling hot water over three tablesppons of fresh lavender blossoms, or one tablespoon dried blossoms.
Allow it to steep until the water cools.
While you wait, zest several long strings of lime peel from four limes.
Squeeze the limes, add three cups of cooled water and sweetener to taste.
Combine all of this with the cooled lavender tea and serve with ice.
Garnish with the lime zest and stems of lavender blossoms.
Pour boiling hot water over several sprigs of spearmint or peppermint,
which you have crushed with a wooden spoon.
Add a good pinch of both aniseed and fennel seed.
Let this mixture steep for five minutes. Strain and serve hot.
If you wish you may add a stick of licorice.
Use a zester and cut strips from stem end to blossom
end before slicing the lemon - just for fancy.
Mix equal parts: chamomile red raspberry leaf borage. Add a little lemon grass. Place approx. 1 heaping tsp. in a tea ball and add to a cup of hot water.
Mix equal parts: comfrey
borage red raspberry leaf gotu kola peppermint. Use four to six tablesppons of this mixture in approx. 1
qrt of cold water. Heat in a non-aluminum pan until the water
begins to simmer. Remove from heat, and strain.
You can save this
in the fridge and drink it cold, or warm it up.
Mix: 1 part valerian 2 parts chamomile 2 parts mint 1 part lemon grass. Place mixture in a tea ball and steep in cup of hot water.
This delicious tea is very high in vitamin C and is especially good
in the wimter.
The dried rose hips should be chopped and then
soaked in a small
amount of water for a minimum of 12 hours prior
to use. Simmer 1 tbsp rosehips in 3 cups of water for about 1/2hr.
Strain. At this point you can add other herbs if you like.
Red
raspberry leaf is nice, as is dried hibiscus flower or lemon grass.
