ch.2
i awoke on a bench. in a space port. or at least i assumed so from the droning voice floating through the air announcing arrivals and departures. at this point, i thought to myself, i am either off my rocker for good, or i am in a mind trap and the tech got bored of watching walk around that damned desert and has something even less pleasant in store. i began unstrapping my goggles and dust guard, pull the hydrator out of my mouth for the first time in how many years, and considered my next move. i had no money or credit, and while it was doubtful and law enforcement would be looking for me, any attempts to bypass the usual process of monetary transaction for travel and goods would have me dumped on whatever rock was nearby, and as far as rocks to be dumped on goes, my previous residence was somewhat pleasant. relatively speaking. i began walking, aimlessly. i figured it would help me think, which it did not, but.
but i did see carllk, moving purposefully through the crowd, which is when i first felt the itch behind my eyes, as if somethign was pulling at my ears, at my eyebrows, at my fingernails, at my skull. i began moving towards him, quickening my pass then readying my spear. without consdieration for my surroundings i launched. what should've been a perfect impalement of that lousy dregfucker's neck feel short 20 feet, which was simply not possible. and then he turned, his eyes glowing like some jaduriin priest's during a baptism, a heavy mist around his hands. bodies feel in front of me shattered like glass, something somehow reaching at me from him. and that's when the fire erupted. everyone and everything that hadn't been frozen and broken erupted in flames. yes i had finally gone insane, and this was clearly some bizzarre halucination. what happened immidiately after... the next thing that is clear to me is being dragged through an airlock, before passing out again, and thinking about needing to get my spear back. it was a very a good spear.
